Supervisor Peggy Judd is a lifelong resident of Cochise County, Arizona, who has resided in Willcox most of her life, She and her husband of 38 years, Kit Judd, have 5 children and 15 grandchildren. She is the niece of former Cochise County Sheriff Jimmy Judd.
Public service has been a cornerstone of Judd’s life and this new chapter as Cochise County Supervisor is a welcomed challenge. She is dedicated to creating and making time for each constituent and meeting their needs throughout District 3. She is available Mondays and Wednesdays in Willcox at the County Complex and most Thursdays and Fridays in Benson at the County Court Building. She is currently Chairman of the Board of Supervisors, a member of the SEAGO Executive Committee, the Department of Homeland Security Regional Administrative Council and is Chairman of the local board for the Emergency Food and Shelter Program (EFSP).
Judd is a former Member of the Arizona House of Representatives and served in the 2011-2012 Legislature when Arizona celebrated its Centennial Anniversary. While serving rural Arizona, she was a member of the Agriculture and Water, Energy and Natural Resources, and Health and Human Services committees. Although she valued her time at the State level, her interests and heart has always been serving her local communities where she can make a distinct difference.
Judd earned her certification in Architectural Drafting from the Phoenix Institute of Technology in 1981 and her B.S. in Anthropology from the University of Arizona in 2003. Her professional career experience follows a track of service and leadership to the public:
- Cake decorator at Bob’s IGA Grocery Store Bakery from 1986 to 2003
- Manager at the Willcox Jewelry store from 1991 to 1993
- Secretary at the Willcox Real Estate Company from 1993 to 2015
- Substitute teacher for the Willcox Unified Schools K-12 from 2000 to 2002
- Freelance architectural drafting technician from 1978
Mrs. Judd has served many years in leadership roles both on the Rex Allen Days, Inc. Committee and the Willcox Parks and Recreation Commission. She is currently the President of the Rotary Club of Willcox, Secretary of Willcox Working Together of Education and is volunteering as a NCCH Hospital Auxiliary Member. Adding to her varied experiences and educational experiences and educational achievements, she has completed several leadership and advocacy training's on the topics of a wide range of subjects from Community and Economic Development to Handicapped Services. She has also volunteered as the Special Olympics Coordinator in Willcox and a decade of Summer Youth Show Choir. Her hobbies are camping, reading, playing clarinet and piano, being a grandmother and collecting pictures and facts about her grandmothers and other ancestors and saving them for posterity.
