Documents Available:

Criminal records, Marriage Licenses, Divorce cases, Civil cases, Probate and Guardianship from February 1881 to present day. What’s available in certain older records may be limited. We also have certain naturalization records.

We do not have Justice of the Peace records. You should contact the appropriate JP court for those records.

We do not keep transcripts, that is word-for-word records of court hearings or other proceedings. You should contact the appropriate court reporter for those records.

Research/Order in Person:

Hours: 8 a.m. – 5 p.m. weekdays, except government holidays.

The research specialist is in the office usually Mon, Tues and Thurs 8 a.m.-3 p.m.

The Bisbee office has most records available on site in either electronic, paper or microfilm formats. The selection at the Sierra Vista office is more limited. Please call ahead to check if the record you need is at the site you’ll visit.

Government Agencies

No charge for requests by most government agencies. These requests should be made by fax, unless there is a prior arrangement. Fax number is 520-432-8639. Use government agency cover sheet with “Attention: Cindy in research” on it.

Fill out the form. Don’t worry if you do not have a case number. Instead, fill in the names of both parties and a date as best you remember it.

You will receive a confirmation number, but your account will not be charged until the clerk processes your order and receives authorization of account information.

Turn-around Time

Turn-around time is usually, but not always, the day on which the order is viewed. Requests requiring over a week turn-around time will be notified of the delay.
