Candidate Information – How do I run for an Office?

COUNTYWIDE OFFICES UP FOR ELECTION IN 2020

DISCLAIMER:  There are several election related bills at the State Legislature that could impact candidate forms and filing for 2020.  Candidates are responsible for ensuring they have the most current information and are warned that these changes could impact your signature requirements and filing.  We will not have further information until the Legislature convenes.

NOTICE:  Please read the Information Letter in the packet first when you download the material. It contains important information on whether you must file a Statement of Organization for a Candidate Committee.  Not all candidates may be required to file this and the information to file is not in the packet. If you do need to file as a Candidate Committee, that form and information is available at the bottom of the page.

Many forms (Statement of Organization, campaign finance reporting forms, candidate handbook, petition forms, etc) are also listed as stand alone documents at the bottom of the page.   This department cannot give candidate advice or legal guidance for your campaign.  Please also see the FAQ list for further information.

In anticipation of all candidate filing being placed online in the future, printed candidate packets ARE NO LONGER AVAILABLE for pickup in the Elections Dept.  All information is posted online for easily download and printing.
